Choosing a style direction that actually fits

In aiKit, a style isn't a coat of paint applied after the writing is done — it's a separate instruction handed to the writer alongside your description, and it genuinely changes how your copy is written. Picking one is a voice decision, not a color decision.

1

Style is a writing instruction, not a theme

Each of aiKit's eleven style directions carries its own voice note that gets fed directly into how the AI writes — not just what colors and fonts render around that writing. Luxury & Understated is instructed toward "restrained claims, no exclamation points, let quality imply itself rather than announcing it." Playful & Fun is instructed toward "more personality and warmth in word choice, short punchy lines are welcome." Those aren't two palettes on the same sentences — they're two different writers, in effect.

That's why picking a style based only on which color scheme you like can backfire: you might get an accurate rendering of a voice that doesn't sound like you at all.

2

Pick based on how you'd actually talk to a customer

A useful test: imagine handing someone your business card and describing what you do out loud, in your own words. If that sounds plain and matter-of-fact ("we've been doing this twelve years, ask around"), you're closer to Professional & Trusted or Natural & Grounded than Playful & Fun. If it sounds warm and story-driven, Warm & Personal fits better than Modern & Technical. The label matters less than which voice actually matches the sentence you'd say out loud.

3

Style also shapes structure, not just word choice

When real, hand-curated design examples exist for your chosen style, their spirit — how dense or spare they are, what they emphasize, how much personality they show — is meant to inform your draft's section structure and emphasis too, not just sit in the background as inspiration. That's part of why switching styles can change more than the tone of individual sentences; it can change what gets emphasized first.

4

It's worth actually comparing, not just imagining from a label

Because the difference is real writing, not just CSS, a label like "Bold & Energetic" versus "Soft & Welcoming" is worth seeing rendered against your own description rather than guessed at from the name alone — the gap between what you'd expect and what you actually get can be bigger than you'd think.
